General
What is Greekstack?
Greekstack is a white-label platform that runs a Greek-letter chapter's recruitment, member management, dues, events, and alumni relations. Each chapter gets its own branded website, branded iOS + Android apps, and an admin console, all running on shared infrastructure so the cost is a fraction of a custom build.
Who is Greekstack for?
Greekstack is for recognized fraternities and sororities at accredited colleges and universities. It works out of the box for an e-board of any size, the smallest chapters use it for recruitment and dues, the largest use it for everything from elections to incident reporting to branded mobile apps.
Is Greekstack free?
Greekstack offers a free first month on the monthly and yearly plans so a chapter can run a full recruitment cycle before committing. After that, pricing is flat: $50/mo + $200 every 6 months or $800/year — the rush cycle is billed every 6 months on monthly and is included in yearly. Or choose Dues-Share ($0 base, flat 3% on dues + donations + tickets collected online). A card is required at signup on every plan; first charge day-30. Unlimited members, no per-seat math. Card processing runs on Stripe at its standard rate. See /pricing for current rates.
Do rushees or prospects have to pay?
No. Recruitment, registration, and the mobile app are always free for the people going through rush. The chapter absorbs all platform costs. Rushees only ever interact with the chapter's branded site or app, they never see a Greekstack paywall or login.
Does the chapter list a fax number?
Some chapters do. When a chapter's officers enter a fax number under Admin then Settings then Contact, it appears in the site footer and on the For Parents page next to the rush phone. Greekstack itself is digital-first: documents sent to that number go to the chapter's own fax line, not through Greekstack, so for anything time-sensitive use the listed email or phone instead.
Account and login
How do I sign in?
Open the chapter's site or app and tap Sign In. Enter the email and password your officer set up for you. If you log in from the iOS/Android app, the chapter is selected from the School to Chapter picker the first time; subsequent launches skip the picker and go straight to your dashboard.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
On the web: open the chapter's login page and tap 'Forgot password?'. Enter the email on file and a 6-digit reset code is emailed to you (codes expire in 10 minutes and can be used once). On the mobile app: tap 'Forgot password?' on the login screen and the system browser opens the same reset flow on the chapter's website. Codes are tenant-scoped, so a code sent for one chapter cannot be used at another.
I never got my reset code. What now?
Check your spam folder and confirm the email you typed matches the one your officer has on file. Reset codes are rate-limited to 5 requests per 15 minutes per account, if you hit the cap, wait 15 minutes and try again. If the email is correct and you still don't see the code, email bensachwitz@gmail.com with the chapter and your name and we will investigate. The inbox is monitored daily by the owner, and we reply within 24 hours.
Can I change my email or phone number?
Yes. Sign in, open the Settings tab, and tap 'Edit profile'. Email changes are checked against the rest of the chapter so two members cannot share an address. If your email change is rejected as 'already in use', contact an officer, they have a release tool to free the address if the other account is stale.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings, then Account, then Delete account on the web or in the mobile app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Your record is removed from the active directory, your RSVPs and ballots are anonymized, and any dues or refund history is retained for the chapter's financial records (required for tax compliance) but stripped of your name and contact info.
Rush and recruitment
How do I sign up for rush?
Open the chapter's site (or the chapter's page in the mobile app) and tap the 'Register for rush' button on the home page. You will fill in name, contact info, year, and any required waivers. The chapter's officer team is notified instantly and will reach out about the next event.
Can I get a rush reminder by text?
Yes, if the chapter enables SMS reminders, you can opt in during registration or later in Settings. Greekstack enforces TCPA quiet hours (no texts between 9pm and 8am in your local time zone) and includes STOP and HELP in every message. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP or toggling SMS off in Settings.
What happens to my rush data after bid day?
If you accept a bid, your rush form rolls into your active member record. If you are not offered a bid or decline, the chapter's rush officer can keep your record for future cycles (with your opt-in) or delete it. You can also request deletion directly from the email confirmation we send on registration, no officer action required.
Is Greekstack compliant with anti-hazing law?
Yes. Every chapter's admin console includes an anti-hazing policy page, an incident-reporting form that goes to a chapter officer outside the chain of command, and a public anti-hazing statement. Greekstack publishes its own anti-hazing commitment at /hazing, and every chapter must acknowledge the policy before activation.
Mobile app
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, a branded iOS app and a branded Android app for every chapter. Search the App Store and Play Store for the chapter's name, or open the chapter's website on a phone and tap the 'Get the app' banner. The same login works on web and mobile; once you sign in on the app, your session persists across launches.
Why can't I see certain features in the app?
Some features are role-gated: announcements, exec posts, and roster changes only appear for active members with the right officer role. If you think you should have access and don't, ask your president or VP to verify your role in the admin console.
Does the app work offline?
The app caches your last dashboard so you can scroll your feed, check the schedule, and read announcements on a weak connection. Anything that needs server data (RSVP, voting, payments) requires connectivity and will show a friendly error if it can't reach the server.
How do I get push notifications?
After your first sign-in, the app asks permission to send notifications. Grant it, and you'll get a push when an officer posts an announcement, when an event you RSVP'd to is about to start, and when an election goes live. You can fine-tune notification categories in Settings, then Notifications.
Privacy and safety
How is my password stored?
All passwords are hashed with scrypt (a memory-hard key-derivation function) before they ever touch the database. The plaintext password is never logged, never emailed, never stored, and never returned by any API. Login and reset endpoints are rate-limited per IP and per account to block online guessing.
What data does Greekstack collect?
We collect what each chapter needs to run: name, contact info, year, major, rush forms, RSVP history, ballots, service hours, and dues records. We do not sell or share data with third parties, and we do not run third-party ad networks on any chapter site. The full privacy policy is at /privacy and lists every sub-processor and retention window.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Sign in, open Settings, then Privacy, then Export my data, and you'll receive a JSON archive of every record associated with your account within 24 hours. The archive is yours to keep; you can also ask us to delete it after you've downloaded it.
How do I report a problem with a member or an officer?
Use the in-app 'Report' button on any post, comment, message, or profile, or open the report form at /hazing. Reports go to the chapter's Risk chair (or a designated officer outside the e-board chain of command) and are tracked in the audit log. If the report is about the risk chair or e-board, it escalates to Greekstack staff.
Billing and cancellation
How does billing work?
Platform pricing is flat ($50/mo + $200 every 6 months or $800/year, or $0-base Dues-Share), billed via Stripe. Unlimited members, no per-seat math. Dues collected from members go directly to the chapter's Stripe Connect account, Greekstack never holds chapter money. You can download invoices and update payment methods from the admin console under Billing.
What is the $25 white-glove setup?
An optional one-time $25 setup where our team configures your chapter: dues structure, roster import, site branding, and app publish checklist. It is not a subscription and never recurs. Payment runs on the web via Stripe; nothing is ever charged inside the mobile app.
Is the $25 setup required?
No. Launch is free and most chapters self-onboard in an afternoon. The $25 white-glove option exists for e-boards that want it done for them: pick the dues25 choice at checkout, pay once, and your chapter joins the white-glove setup queue with dues-share billing (no monthly base) after that.
Can we cancel?
Yes, any time. There are no annual commitments and no cancellation fees. Open the admin console, go to Billing, then Cancel, and your chapter's site and app keep running through the end of the current billing period. After that, the chapter's data is retained for 90 days in case you change your mind, then permanently deleted.
What happens to alumni data after cancellation?
Alumni profiles are never deleted by a chapter cancellation, alumni can still log in to their personal portal and view their own record. The chapter's admin view of those profiles is removed; alumni control whether they remain visible to other chapters on the platform.
